Welcome to OSLC!!
You are welcome. You are loved.

You might be wondering, why should I come to OSLC? And if I come to OSLC, what should I expect? In the following section, you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive at OSLC. We hope this section is informative and that you find your new church home with us! God bless!

Q: Why should I come to OSLC?

A: OSLC is a community grounded in Lutheran tradition and excited about ministry in our community! We worship together through the Liturgy (Work of the People) and songs and enjoy the company of each other. As a community, we are very active in serving the community through Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program (MCEAP), To Our House, the OSLC Food Program, including the Little Free Pantry and countless other ministries. Have an idea for a new one? Let's hear it! We always want to move forward in serving our community. Come and be a part of this active community!

Q:What is worship like?

A: Worship happens at 10AM on Sunday Morning and follows the traditional Lutheran Litrugy of gathering together, hearing the word proclaimed through readings and sermons, being strengthed in faith through the Lord's table, and being sent out in mission to the world. Our songs come from Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) and are mostly traditional hymns, while occassionally learning new music from around the world! Worship is an energetic experience, so come and be a part of worship at OSLC!

Q: What do we wear to worship?

A: People at OSLC come dressed in a variety of ways. Most of the time, people are wearing "business casual", however, we accept people as they are. Attire shouldn't stop someone from experiencing the Word of God.

Q: What about my kids?

A: At OSLC, during worship, we encourage kids who are able to participate in worship to be in the worship space. That being said, we understand that for some parents, it is hard to be able to worship while having to wrangle their kids, so we provide a nursery staffed by volunteers from the congregation. All volunteers have had background checks and are trained in safe nursery practices.
